It seems like forever ago I was just becoming friends with my then neighbor, Allison. Soon after her boyfriend, Mike moved in and our little group became fast friends. We bonded over nights in with our dogs (who are dating), Farkle games, Onesie parties among many other nights that I could talk about until the sun comes up. It's hard once you're older to meet new friends, but as luck would have it they are some of our closest friends.
I was so thrilled when Brad and Amber's sister-in-law hired me to take maternity photos the day of Amber's baby shower. I drove to Wisconsin, fully anticipating the weather that it gives to you, only to be greeted by the most perfect of overcast days.
Hilary and I met about 7 years ago at Goose Island in Wrigleyville. I had just moved here from Wisconsin and was out for a friends birthday when I approached Hilary as we were both seated at the bar. We got to talking, did a shot and exchanged numbers. I knew she would be a constant friend as I started my new journey in Chicago.
Kayla and I have known each other for many years and the world keeps putting us in situations that allow us to connect time and time again. Kayla contacted me to take pictures of her beautiful and fun family! I was so thrilled and excited to head out on the backroads of Wisconsin to a beautiful park, Dorthy Carnes Park.
I was so excited when Krissy reached out to me and wanted me to take her engagement pictures. I was secretly hoping she would contact me since the day she had announced that she and Greg were engaged after almost four years together!
With the cooler weather rolling in I was taken back to May and this beautiful Delafield Fish Hatchery wedding happened. The night before the wedding it decided to rain non-stop and it forced the wedding to proceed inside the building. The building is set on protected wetland and there was not a dry spot to step.
I've known this sweet mama since our high school days! I grew up with her younger sister and we became fast friends as I was always hanging around. Melissa was like the older sister I never had and was always up for a fun time! Fast forward to our college days and I found myself hanging around with this group more and more.
Julie came to me in January looking for a photographer for her wedding in June. I had never met Julie before, but a mutual friend introduced us. As soon as we started talking I knew that this wedding was going to be so special.
This post is so special to me. I am so blessed to capture these tiny, fleeting moments in my little brother's life. I was so lucky to capture his now wife, Cassy and his engagement photos, their first baby's pregnancy, and now their second baby's pregnancy photos.
I was so excited when Dan and Kelly reached out to me to document their baby boy's new journey in their home. I have loved watched their relationship grow over the years and have been blessed with amazing friends that trust me with all of their memories.
There is something so special growing up with someone and watching them become a parent. It doesn't get old and the more babies that they bring into the world you get happier and happier. Knowing Lindsey for just shy of 20 years is one of my favorite stories to tell when I get together with other friends.
I really think that my friends are magicians sometimes when they begin to tell stories and I look back on the event only to realize they are right. I wouldn't admit that too many times because obviously, they knew they were pregnant. Thus, starts the story and adventure of finding out that two of my very special and close friends were expecting their first child.
I am not even sure where to begin when it comes to this fresh new family of 3 (or 4 if you count their cat, Nelly). I have known Ashley and Nate for many years now and one thing I know is that their love grows stronger every day.
I always think that it silly how fast the weather and seasons change, but I also think I am silly because I constantly want weather that isn't the weather we currently have. This summer I kept thinking about how wonderful it would be if it was just a tad cooler and a bit more breezy, fast forward to October and we are all bundled up, wearing our boots that were collecting dust in the closet and those perfect chunky socks peeking out just right at the top of our boots.
